Biography

Dr. Richard Ingram has known that he wanted to be a doctor since he was a kid, thanks to a wonderful pediatrician who showed him how powerful kindness and connection can be in medicine. That early experience stayed with him and led him to a career in oncology—a field where he gets to combine his love of science with the privilege of building meaningful relationships with patients and their families.

At Shenandoah Oncology, Dr. Ingram believes that every patient deserves care that’s as unique as they are. He takes the time to understand what matters most to you, so together you can create a treatment plan that fits your goals and values. He also believes in teamwork—the entire care team at Shenandoah Oncology works together to make sure you feel supported, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

Outside of work, Dr. Ingram is a proud husband and dad to two amazing adult children. Their family time often includes their two dogs, and they love cooking together, traveling, and getting outside for nature walks. They are big fans of museums, live music, theater, and British mystery shows. He’s also a lifelong reader—especially of classic mysteries—and he enjoy puzzles of all kinds, from crosswords to jigsaws.

Giving back to the community is something he cares deeply about. Volunteering helps him stay connected to the people and place he’s proud to call home.
